Saddle Up Camps 2024 A unique experience that brings children with and without disabilities together and offers a chance to participate in horseback riding and equine-related activities in a safe and fun environment! Riders will have the opportunity to build relationships, learn, play and share experiences, regardless of abilities. All equestrian camps are led by PATH-certified Riding Instructor and utilize a 1:1 rider/volunteer ratio to provide each rider with individualized attention. Riders will learn about horsemanship both on the ground and in the saddle as well as various aspects of horse care and building relationships while exploring the farm. There will be two lessons per day, weather permitting, Riders will have access to our indoor and outdoor arenas, wooded trails and the creek. Riders can choose between riding English or Western disciplines, or they can try them both!
On the last day of camp riders will be able to showcase their newly acquired horsemanship skills for family and friends as they take part in the McKenna Farms Riding Demonstration !
Requirements for all camps:
~ Ages 5 - 15 years old
~Independent in toileting
~Able to follow basic spoken instructions
~Able to participate for the entire day’s activities
~Able to learn independently and perform basic
~ Child required to bring a sack lunch & water each day
